All things lashes

I’ve always been obsessed with lashes. If there is only one makeup item I could apply it would be mascara. So I’ve been working on compiling a list of some of my favorite lash items and their pros and cons.

1. MAC lash curler. Unfortunately I was blessed with super straight lashes. Luckily someone told me about this lash curler which for whatever reason, lasts long and works better. Someone taught me years ago to start at the base with small crimps and work my way out to get a more natural curl rather then a midline crimp. If I ever have time (aka never) I’ll warm it up with my blow dryer first for a longer lasting curl.

2. Lash lift. Along the lines of a lash curler but last for a few months. More like 1.5 months for me but I think my lashes grow kinda fast. It’s like a perm for your lashes. It takes about an hour and it was kinda hard to stay with your eyes closed that long but loved not having to curl my lashes for about 2 months.

3. Lash serum. There are a million on the market and two I’ve tried were Revitalash and Rodan and Fields lash boost. They both cost just over $100 and I felt like they helped improved length and thickness about the same. Nothing super dramatic for me but like a good conditioner for my lashes. Something I will definitely continue to use. I felt like the tube of lash boast lasted a little longer but the price tag was a little higher.

4. Latisse. This is the only lash serum that has an active ingredient in it. I noticed a big difference in length but not a ton with thickness (it’s not indicated to do this). It does require a prescription, it’s about $135 for 6 weeks and I hate the application. They are doing it to be sterile but just a pain to get a new wand, drop the medicine on it and use. Mainly a pain if you travel. I wish the application was more like the other two. I found the best results when alternating latisse with lash boost.

5. Eyelash extensions. I’m not going to lie I loved these. They come in different lengths and thicknesses. I feel like you wake up looking ready to go. I did it more natural once and loved how it looked and then tried it a little more dramatic and that was fun too! It’s kinda of a pain to go in every 2-3 weeks for a fill and they are expensive but they were so great on a trip! It was quick and easy to go! My husband loved that I was quick in the morning to get ready! They are sort of weird in the water (you need a wand to fix them) and they can get crazy as they grow out. I will definitely try them again BUT they are really hard on your natural lashes. I didn’t have them for long and I noticed a dramatic difference in the length and thickness of my lashes once I took them off. Partially because I was now used to having thickness but still definitely a difference! So I will have to do them sparingly.

6. Voluminous. Hands down my most used mascara for years. Love having a drug store go to. I always get waterproof because if I don’t my lashes will go straight which makes it a pain to take off but it’s tried and true.

7. IT superhero. I like coating this on after for added thickness and darkness. I will say some tubes have been great and others not so much but honestly one of the best mascaras I’ve tried in a while. I think it makes my lashes look longer too!

8. LancĂ´me primer. Again I have used this for years as a primer and can’t find anything I like more.

9. Diorshow mascara. Love how easily this washes off. Adds volume and makes my lashes look thicker. I really love this on my bottom lashes and when I’m not going to be in the water.

10.Covergirl clean makeup remover. This is the only remover I’ve been able to find that easily takes off any mascara including waterproof. I’ve used it forever but have had a hard time finding. The last few times I had to buy it on amazon.

I would love to hear your lash favorites. I’ve been dying to try Castor oil and I’ve heard this does wonders but haven’t tried it yet! Please share what you love??!
