Ninja Party
Kai turned 7 this year!! How did this happen?! He really wanted a Ninjago party, which was perfect because Jax had a Lego party so I could recycle some of the supplies. Kai actually loves sushi, so I came up with this super easy sushi cake. I just used pieces of seaweed to cover styrofoam forms and then decorated with ginger and wasabi! Plus we had pretend sushi for the kids with normal tastebuds 😉 This was so easy to make with rice crispy treats, fruit by the foot, Swedish fish and a bunch of random assorted candy. The kids love the idea that it was sushi without having to eat raw fish! The kids keep asking for this so I will probably make it just as a fun after school snack or I think it would be fun for a sushi night!
Check out the Babybell cheeses! Super easy to pull apart and add edible eyes to make mini ninjas. The veggie tray was just a cucumber made into a snake to fit the Asian theme.
Loved the Japanese inspired colors and decorations. I sourced most of my supplies from oriental trading. The cake was my usual styrofoam cake, which I can’t recommend enough because it takes all the pressure from stressful cake-decorating the week of the party. Serve cupcakes to party-goers instead! These were super easy with oreos with part of the frosting gone and sprinkles for eyes (don’t put these on until last minute or they get soggy) to make little ninjas.
These invites were my favorite! Little lego heads with a ninja mask around it.
Invites: Morgan Kader
I got the following from Oriental Trading: chopsticks, to go boxes, piñata, cupcake stand, ninja gummies, ninja sword food picks (seriously how cute are these in little cheese cubes!), ninja balloons, happy birthday banner, lanterns, ninja lollipops
Cake balls: Annies Petite treats
Ninja swords: Amazon

Ninja masks: Karate mart
Take homes: Playdough turned into ninjago (I used the leftovers from Jax party and added a mask)
For the activities: the kids picked marshmallows out of rice with chopsticks, built lego minifigs and we made a ninja training course which required putting on a sumo suit (hilarious), and the kids favorites was getting the ninja balloons (which I filled up with helium) with their ninja swords! We just placed these around the yard and they attacked!
